Today, I decided to ask people from my theatre department a question. In your experience, how does working on a production in an educational setting differ from a production in the “real world”?
Interviewees are all members of the Ball State Theatre and Dance Department and were not briefed on the question beforehand. To listen to the responses, you can either scroll through the individual posts or use the map below, which highlights where each interviewee comes from. Just choose a marker, and then click on the “Interview” link right next to the city to see the post where that respondent’s interview is located.

From having teachers on the production team to acting with classmates you see every day to having the whole experience being set in the high-stress, high-pressure world of a school, what do we need to do as students in order to create something artistic and beautiful?
Please add your thoughts to the already wonderful responses given by the volunteers here at Ball State. I’ll be adding interviews all throughout the week, so make sure to check back for updates!
